New Orleans Lifestyles & Living Guide

New Orleans was founded by Jean-Baptiste Le Moyne de Bienville in 1718. The city was originally centered on the French Quarter, or the Vieux Carré ("Old Square" in French) as it was known then. The French Quarter is the oldest neighborhood in New Orleans, and most of the architecture was rebuilt under Spanish rule after the great fires of 1788 and 1794. The district as a whole is a National Historic Landmark, and contains numerous individual historic buildings. The French Quarter is full of many attractions, restaurants, clubs, hotels and shopping.

Whether you are in town for a romantic getaway, family vacation, a convention, or are a resident of New Orleans, we are here to help improve your stay with valuable information and savings.
